Pain at work - What is your attitude?

Recent Australian research suggests that working in a role you do not enjoy make you more likely to suffer back  pain than your colleagues who enjoy their work. The study will be presented at a Pain Society meeting in late April by its author, Rheumatologist, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Associate Professor Markus Melloh. He comments: “..attitude in the workplace and positive thinking has a huge impact on lower back pain”.

At Park View Acupuncture and Chiropractic Clinic we recognise that the workplace often is a contributor to people’s back problems regardless of physical activity levels.

In march 2012 the British Chiropractic Association found that 15% of people questioned cited their workplace as the source of their problems.

So, as well as being aware that lifting, carrying and sitting at a desk at work all can cause problems it appears that adopting a positive attitude to work, however difficult that may be, also is worth considering.

Of course our chiropractors, acupuncturists, and massage and sports injury therapist are here to help. Give us a call on 01903 230066 to find out how.
