How to avoid the dreaded ‘Holiday Tummy Bug’

Have you experienced a holiday spoiled by stomach problems. while the rest of your party were enjoying themselves on the beach? Then you are not alone as a large proportion of travellers have their holiday interrupted by diarrhoea and vomiting. This is the most common holiday illness, especially for those travelling in Southern Europe and in the Far East.

It is always best to try and prevent disease rather than treating it. A few golden rules:

Should you fall ill then rest and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Always bring some anti-diarrhoea medication. Your pharmacist can advise you on this.

Always seek medical advice if you or your fellow travellers

It can also be a good idea to take some probiotics before and during your holiday. We recommend Probioguard or Acidophilus Extra 10 both from Lamberts and available here at the clinic at £14.00 for a pot of 60 capsules.

Further travelling and driving advice can found on our advice page.

Travel safely and have a good holiday.
